This notice explains how Rachana’s Mehandi (Rachana Shah, Talmakiwadi, Tardeo, Mumbai 400007) collects and uses your personal data when you visit rachanasmehandi.com, send an enquiry or contact us. We follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025. For your data, we act as the Data Fiduciary.
1. What we collect
- Enquiry form: your name, phone/WhatsApp number, email (optional), occasion, event date, city or venue, number of people and any details you write in the message.
- WhatsApp, phone and email: whatever you choose to share with us when you message or call.
- Website usage: basic, aggregated visit statistics (such as pages viewed) collected by our website host, WordPress.com.
We do not ask for, and you should not send, sensitive information such as identity numbers or financial account details through the form.
2. Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, check availability and send you a quote.
- To arrange and deliver your booking, including travel for destination events and coordinating our artist team.
- To keep basic records of bookings and payments that we are required to keep by law.
We use your data only for these purposes. We do not sell it, and we will not send you promotional messages unless you separately ask for them.
3. Your consent
When you submit the enquiry form, you tick a box to give your consent for the purposes above. You can withdraw that consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, by messaging or emailing us (see section 8). Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it, but we may then be unable to complete your booking.
4. Who we share it with
We share your data only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed:
- WordPress.com (Automattic): website hosting and the enquiry form.
- Google Workspace: our business email.
- WhatsApp (Meta): if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp.
- Artists in our team: for large events, only the details needed to deliver your booking (such as venue, date and contact person).
Some of these providers may store data outside India. We use reputable providers with appropriate safeguards, and we will follow any restrictions the Government of India places on transfers.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t become bookings: deleted within 12 months of our last contact with you.
- Bookings: kept for as long as needed to deliver the service and to meet legal record-keeping requirements, then deleted.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner, unless the law requires us to keep it.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected, completed or updated;
- have your data erased when it is no longer needed or you withdraw consent;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become unable to;
- raise a grievance with us, and, if you are not satisfied with our response, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Children
Our enquiry form is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.

9. Security and breaches
We take reasonable security measures to protect your data, including secure (https) connections and password-protected accounts. If a personal data breach ever affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
10. Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
